Shannon M. Campbell, MPP

Principal & Founder

Research. Data science. Healthcare. Real-world evidence. Equity. Changing the world.

These are some of the things that excite me most.

At its core, my career has been finding all the ways to harness data to strategically inform decisive action and to innovate equitable and effective interventions and improvements benefiting patient and community health.

Over the last decade, I’ve held multiple positions in data science and research, in both the U.S. and E.U. and across the public, not-for-profit, and private sectors. I’ve worked for and with governments, payors, pharmaceuticals, nonprofits, startups, hospitals, providers…you name it! I have a proven record as a skilled and thoughtful researcher, total data geek, passionate and enthusiastic advocate, strategic and forward-thinker, effective writer, empathetic leader and mentor, and productive and innovative self-starter.

Upon returning to the U.S. after a stint in Ireland, I launched Arete Data Labs and began directly working with clients. I love collaborating with companies to get the most out of their data and figuring out how that translates to what’s important - making things better for patients and for communities.

Whether writing code, drafting a research strategy, running regression models, creating interactive dashboards, delving into claims data, developing predictive tools, talking to CEOs, navigating tricky organizational dynamics, mentoring others – I’ve planned, managed, and executed projects across the spectrum, and I love bringing those skills and experiences to the table with others to analyze, create, and innovate.

When I’m not geeking out with you about how to leverage your data into something actionable and transformative, I’m enjoying spending time with my partner, 7 year old daughter, and senior rescue pug; being with good friends; reading books, particularly European crime fiction and thrillers; drinking tea; cosplaying at comic cons; obsessing over Eurovision; dancing nightclub Zumba; playing my sax in local bands; going all out for Halloween; and travelling.

Mr Darcy

Chief Vibes Officer

Faithful colleague of many years, there was no one more qualified to take on the position of CVO than Mr Darcy. He takes his role of vibes management very seriously, alternating between snuggles, silliness, and snoozing. He spends his day in the office snuggling/destroying his favorite stuffed spider; guarding vigilantly against evil intruders; napping under his boss’ desk; offering cuddles; and begging for a raise, preferably in the form of beef jerky.
